Halloween Books

I joined http://firstgradefoundme.blogspot.com/ for the Halloween linky party.
Some of my favorite Halloween Books are:
We love to sing the song.  The kids love to act out the song and point to different bones as they sing.
We also paint a skeleton with Q-tips and white paint on black paper.  The writing prompts we use are
Bones help us ______
and
I have _______ bones in my body.

Skeleton Hiccups is another fun book to go with the above activities.
I buy plastic bones from the local party store and the children measure each other with the bones.
_______ is ______ bones tall.

Our kinders have been working hard learning about the 5 senses.  We will post some of the activities as soon as we can.  This has been a busy weekend.  Birthdays to celebrate and soccer games to attend.  It also was a very hot weekend.  Summer is not over in Texas. We have a new unit to add to TPT. The BackPack Unit.  It is a fun unit for children to begin learning about color words, the alphabet and creating sentences.  We also have some emergent readers, class books and labeling activities included.
You can find it here.

The first two weeks flew by, although we were very busy and I have stayed late most of those days.
The beginning of school is never ending.  I always think that if I can make it to October 1st, then the rest of the year will go smoothly.

I have a very sweet group this year!!!  I am so excited to see them learning the routine of the classroom and the school.  I have a lot of rule followers.  I have been reading many blogs and trying to learn how to post freebies.  I hope I can add one soon and I would like to post some classroom pictures and some of the things we have created so far.  All the teachers with blogs have such great ideas and seem to effortlessly keep up with the blogging world.
