It's been a long week and a half.  I have almost finished getting my room ready for all the new kindergarteners.  I will post pictures of the finished product soon.  Also, I would like to share some activities we will be doing the first few weeks of school.  Yesterday and today my kindergarten team met almost 80 new children.  I work with the best teachers ever.  They are so dedicated and committed. The parents sign their children up for a one hour session and we meet with them in groups of 10-12.  We sing songs, read a story and they create an art activity.  We also do a quick assessment with them.  We can observe so many skills in just one hour.  This time helps us determine how to create the best overall classes for a great new year.  Our district starts school August 27th and we are looking forward to teaching all these new faces!

Boy is it hot!!! I could only work about 1 1/2  -  2 hours
on Friday morning.  I hope the air is on some next week.
It was 113 degrees on Friday.  I love summer, but we
are ready for cooler days and maybe some rain!  Pictures
of the completed project will be soon.  We have to be
ready for Kinder Kamp on August 14th.  School
does not start until the 27th  More on Kinder Kamp later.

Today is my first post on my new blog.  I have wanted a blog for a long time and now that I have one it is kind of scary to start posting.  I have to thank Erika and Misty at Honey Bunch Blog Designs.  They did great work on the design!  I had no idea where to start to create a blog design.  Everyone has such wonderful blogs.  I have been blog-hopping for over a year.  There are so many talented teachers with so many creative ideas.  I will be visiting my classroom this week and posting before and after pictures.  I dread working in the heat.  It was 109 degrees today!
