It's been a long week and a half.  I have almost finished getting my room ready for all the new kindergarteners.  I will post pictures of the finished product soon.  Also, I would like to share some activities we will be doing the first few weeks of school.  Yesterday and today my kindergarten team met almost 80 new children.  I work with the best teachers ever.  They are so dedicated and committed. The parents sign their children up for a one hour session and we meet with them in groups of 10-12.  We sing songs, read a story and they create an art activity.  We also do a quick assessment with them.  We can observe so many skills in just one hour.  This time helps us determine how to create the best overall classes for a great new year.  Our district starts school August 27th and we are looking forward to teaching all these new faces!

  1. Marilyn, you and Katie have an adorable blog! I love it! I am a Texas teacher too! I am gearing up for the 27th as well. If you get a chance, I would love for you to come read about our ready confetti and jitter glitter. =)

When you get the chance, add a follow button. You can go to design at the top of your blog and then layout. Choose add a gadget and the follow button should be the ninth choice. I would love to follow y'all. =)

    1. Thanks for your comment. I was so excited! You were my first comment. I have been to your blog and I love it. Ready confetti and Jitter Glitter is so much fun. We handed out the glitter at our kinderkamp last week. The kids were so excited to use it and start school.
